Overview
Welcome — Switzerland is an incredible place to craft a relaxed, well-resourced life abroad. For Canadian digital nomads, and especially Black women seeking a “soft life” (calmer pace, excellent public services, walkable cities, nature on demand), Switzerland offers tidy infrastructure, world-class safety, reliable public transit, and beautiful backdrops for working remotely.
Expect: high costs balanced by excellent public services; strong local traditions and multilingual culture (German/French/Italian/English in big cities); canton-level variation in rules and taxes; and pockets of welcoming expat & Black community energy in larger urban centers. This guide gives focused, practical steps to move, settle, and protect your finances and tax position.
