Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
By accessing or using Baddies Abroad ("the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding agreement to use the service.
2. Not professional advice
Baddies Abroad provides general informational guidance on Canadian tax residency and cross-border considerations. We are not a law firm, accounting firm, or tax preparation service. Our content does not constitute legal, tax, or accounting advice. Always consult a qualified cross-border professional for your specific situation.
3. Account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
4. Payments and refunds
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). A one-time report stays in your account for 30 days, where you can view and download it; after that it's deleted. One-time reports are non-refundable once generated. Memberships renew automatically until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time from Account Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Pricing may change with advance notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) abuse, reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service; (b) use the service to violate any law; (c) upload malicious code; (d) attempt to access other users' data; (e) resell or sublicense the service without written permission. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit (notes, trip logs, profile information). You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate the service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you submit.
7. Intellectual property
The service, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Baddies Abroad or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works except as expressly permitted.
8. Third-party services
The service integrates with third-party providers (e.g. payment processors, hosting, analytics). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. Baddies Abroad does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components, or that any information provided through the service will be accurate, complete, current, or reliable. Your use of the service is at your sole risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Baddies Abroad, its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, tax penalties or interest, professional fees, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
10a. Tax disclaimer
Baddies Abroad is not a tax preparer, accounting firm, law firm, or registered financial advisor and does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. All content, tools, assessments, calculators, estimators, reports, and AI-generated responses on the service are provided for general informational and educational purposes only and are based on publicly available information about Canadian and international tax topics. Tax rules — including residency tests, departure tax, treaty tie-breakers, the 90% rule, TFSA/RRSP treatment for non-residents, and foreign reporting obligations — are complex, fact-specific, and change frequently. Results generated by the service are estimates only, may not reflect your full personal circumstances, and must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. Before making any decision affecting your residency status, tax filings, investments, or relationship with the Canada Revenue Agency or any other tax authority, you must consult a qualified cross-border tax professional. You are solely responsible for your tax filings, elections, and compliance.
10b. Travel information disclaimer
Country profiles, nomad-visa summaries, cost-of-living indicators, soft-life scores, safety notes, banking and connectivity information, and any other destination content on the service are general informational summaries compiled from public sources and may not reflect current visa rules, entry requirements, taxes, healthcare access, safety conditions, or local laws. Immigration and travel rules change frequently and vary by nationality, purpose of travel, and personal circumstances. Baddies Abroad does not provide immigration, visa, or legal advice and is not responsible for travel decisions made based on the service. Before booking travel, relocating, or applying for a visa, you must verify all requirements with the relevant embassy, consulate, official government source, and/or a qualified immigration professional. You are solely responsible for your travel arrangements, compliance with local laws, and personal safety.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Baddies Abroad from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless required otherwise by applicable law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
